Oriental Charm: A Fusion of History and Feng Shui

One of the standout features of Oriental Charm is the careful selection of materials and finishes that bring the design to life. The use of bronze paint creates a majestic backdrop, setting the stage for two emperor chairs from Ancient China. The dominant ceiling feature, crafted with mahogany finishes, depicts the accents of oriental design, adding a touch of elegance to the space.

Another unique aspect of this design is the key-shaped walnut finished display shelf. Detailed with brass inlay, it showcases a collection of pieces related to Feng Shui, adding a touch of mystique and intrigue to the space. The overall design incorporates earthen textures, softened corners, and non-obtrusive shapes, allowing the forces of energy to flow freely throughout the space.

The realization of Oriental Charm involved the use of advanced technology. Laser cutting and veneering techniques were employed to create the prominent ceiling feature, while the keyhole feature was crafted using walnut finishes with brass inlay. These techniques ensured that the design elements were executed with precision and attention to detail.

Spanning a total area of 120 square meters, Oriental Charm offers a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetics. The design includes a magnificent partition feature that creates privacy while maintaining an open and spacious feel. A study room, shelved with books, is conveniently located beside the master bedroom, providing a conducive environment for the owner's private working hours.

Located in Inflora Condominium, Singapore, Oriental Charm took a total of three months to complete, with one month dedicated to planning and two months for construction and furnishing. Throughout the design process, the team at Copper Design Associates faced the challenge of balancing the elements of Feng Shui based on the owner's diagnosis. This required careful selection of materials and finishes that aligned with the principles of Feng Shui.

Oriental Charm has garnered recognition in the design community and was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2017. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate innovation, practicality, and adherence to industry best practices. Oriental Charm stands as a testament to the successful integration of history, culture, and design, creating a space that not only reflects the owner's passion for Feng Shui but also offers a unique and captivating experience for visitors.
