Innovative Designers Haibin Du, Jian Ding, and Xueting Yu Introduce Space+

In today's world, traffic congestion and inconvenient parking have become major challenges for urban dwellers. To address these issues, visionary designers Haibin Du, Jian Ding, and Xueting Yu have created Space+, a concept car that revolutionizes the way we park and commute. Inspired by the fast and efficient flight of a pelican, Space+ combines sleek design with collapsible features to save space and enhance convenience.

Space+ stands out with its streamlined curves, reducing resistance and enabling faster travel. The designers have prioritized the man-machine concept, incorporating fabric seats for enhanced comfort. However, the standout feature of Space+ is its collapsible seat, which makes the car thinner and narrower. This unique design allows Space+ to navigate through congested city streets while occupying minimal space.

Additionally, the trunk of Space+ features a storage compartment that can hold a helmet, providing convenience for riders. The designers have utilized steel fiber anti-collision glass to ensure safety and durability.

Space+ measures 1650mm in width, 4000mm in length, and 700mm in height. Its compact size allows for easy maneuverability in crowded areas, making it an ideal solution for urban commuting.

When operating Space+, users are required to wear a helmet for safety. The car can be charged using solar and wind power during the parking process, contributing to its low-carbon and environmentally friendly design. To park, users simply input their assigned serial number into the designated parking lot, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.

The Space+ project commenced in April 2015 in Shenyang, China, and was completed in February 2017. The two-year duration allowed the designers to conduct extensive research on urban traffic congestion and parking issues. The collapsible design of Space+ aims to alleviate these problems and provide a more convenient and efficient solution for commuters.

Recognizing the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the design, Space+ was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2017. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that exhibit outstanding creativity and contribute to quality of life improvements. Space+ exemplifies the fusion of art, science, design, and technology, making it a true game-changer in the automotive industry.
