Falesia: A Sculptural Center Table Inspired by Cliffs

The Falesia center table, designed by MULA PRETA, draws inspiration from the organic profile of cliffs surrounding Natal. Crafted with certified wood and finished with freijó, a typically Brazilian wood known for its color variances resembling regional sands, this coffee table captures the essence of nature's beauty. The design language of the table echoes iconic drawings like the Dune, creating a sculptural piece that seamlessly blends technology and art. The glass top adds a touch of elegance, evoking the feeling of encountering the sea.

The structure starts and finishes at the same point, giving the impression of an endless connection. This unique property allows users to compose their interior with one or many Falesias, maintaining a harmonious flow throughout the space.

The Falesia center table is crafted using certified FSC PINUS BASE wood, a sustainable choice that is favored for reforestation due to its availability and versatility. The combination of glass and wood in its construction creates a truly exceptional experience, both visually and functionally.

With dimensions of 120cm width, 120cm depth, and 35cm height, the Falesia center table weighs 45kg, making it a substantial yet manageable piece of furniture. Its design and craftsmanship make it a standout addition to any contemporary living space.

The Falesia center table was designed by André Gurgel and Felipe Bezerra and was exhibited at Fuori Salone 2016, BRAZIL SA, and Private Exhibition 2016. Its striking design and innovative concept have earned it the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2017. This prestigious award recognizes designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.
