Xiamen International Center Main Tower I: A Blend of Modernity and Tradition

Exploring the Unique Design and Innovative Features of this Award-Winning Office Building

The design team drew inspiration from nature and local culture, incorporating humanistic thought into the interior space design. They used modern artistic expression to illustrate interior spirituality, extending local culture and ocean elements to create a "galaxy memories" concept. The history of Southern Fujian development is deposited in the space, with the "Laconia" thought also applied in the design.

What sets the Xiamen International Center Main Tower I apart from other office buildings is its comprehensive application of new materials and smart office intelligence. The lobby height is adjusted to suit modern offices, with an effective combination of lighting design and ceiling aluminum plate.

The design realization technology is equally impressive. Floor heating and ventilation design effectively integrates with floor materials and pillar distances. European limestone is used as the main finish material, which is long-lasting and easy to clean. The ceiling metal applied a complete design parameter system.

Spanning a total of 3989.19 square meters, the office building was designed with the theme of "Galaxy Memories" and "Laconia thought." The design team, which included Peng Xiaohua, used the influence of the world economy on contemporary society as the blueprint. They applied a complication to simplicity design thinking to analyze space, prioritizing people's experience as the foundation of the space concept. Local nature, humanity, and culture served as the principal line.

The project, which took place from May 2015 to March 2016 in Xiamen, Fujian, posed several challenges. As a skyscraper office, the design team had to deal with intensive crowd flow and find ways to lead people into a working state.

Despite these challenges, the Xiamen International Center Main Tower I has received numerous accolades. It was awarded Silver in the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation. The design is admired for its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
