Gui an Mansion: A Leisurely Villa Group

Creating a Modern Chinese Haven

After drawing inspiration from the works of modern Chinese scholars, Hong Kong Fong Wong Architects designed Gui an Mansion to embody tranquility, modesty, and a touch of humor. This villa group of 5-story buildings redefines luxury by prioritizing leisure and creating a space that fosters a peaceful state of mind.

Gui an Mansion stands out with its unique approach to villa design. Instead of focusing on opulence, the architects emphasize the importance of leisure as the ultimate luxury. The ability to be lofty and leisurely is seen as a precious blessing, reserved for those with a different state of mind and scholastic accomplishment.

The design of Gui an Mansion revolves around the concept of leisure. The open plan living room and reception area are designed to entertain guests while immersing them in the soothing sounds of nature. The tall ceilings and vertical layout add an air of elegance and grandeur to the living space. A refined and clear green marble feature wall serves as a visual representation of the villa's status, reminiscent of ancient poems describing gatherings with learned scholars and the absence of commoners.

With a project area of 334 square meters, Gui an Mansion offers a spacious and comfortable living environment. Its location in Gui an, known as the backyard of Fuzhou City, provides a serene natural setting. Surrounded by lush forests, the villa group seamlessly integrates the elegance of modern literati taste with the beauty of its natural surroundings, creating a leisurely and cozy living space.

The design of Gui an Mansion presented several challenges. The architects aimed to infuse the modern space with the classical leisurely and carefree state of mind associated with traditional Chinese literati. By successfully incorporating this cultural element, the design showcases the taste and cultural attainment of the literati in a contemporary context.

Gui an Mansion was completed in September 2017 after a year-long project that began in 2016. Located in Fuzhou City, China, this villa group stands as a testament to the fusion of modern design and traditional Chinese aesthetics.

Gui an Mansion received the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2018 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This award recognizes the villa's well-designed, practical, and innovative features that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contributes to a better world, providing fulfillment and positive feelings.

Gui an Mansion is a testament to the vision and creativity of Hong Kong Fong Wong Architects. By prioritizing leisure and infusing traditional Chinese cultural elements into a modern space, this villa group offers a haven of tranquility and elegance.
