A Unique Design for Maximizing Public Space

Whirl-Hide Square Light is not just an ordinary lamp; it is a versatile lighting solution that adapts to the needs of different groups of people. During the day, the lamp hides itself on the ground, allowing for uninterrupted use of public spaces. As the night approaches, it gradually rises to its full height of 4500mm, illuminating the square with its warm glow.

One of the standout features of Whirl-Hide Square Light is its ability to project laser patterns onto the ground. The administrator of the square can operate the lamp to project different laser patterns according to people's requirements. This feature not only adds visual interest to the square but also helps to manage and reduce conflicts in public environments. By planning different areas for different activities, the lamp effectively reduces contradictions between different groups of people.

Whirl-Hide Square Light is made using advanced technology and high-quality materials. The lampshade is created by extruding an acrylic tube and subjecting it to local heat treatment. The resulting spiral rotation of transparent parts gives the lamp its distinctive whirl-like appearance. The lamp's structure is made from carbon structural steel, ensuring durability and stability.

Designed with the intention of maximizing public space, Whirl-Hide Square Light has been a game-changer in urban design. It addresses the generation gap between different age groups by providing a space that caters to their respective preferences. The lamp's ability to rise and fall over time serves as a reminder of the square's timetable, making it easier for people to plan their activities.

Whirl-Hide Square Light was developed over a period of six months, from July 2017 to January 2018. The design team, led by Fan Fengyuan, conducted extensive research to understand the challenges faced in public spaces. By addressing issues such as noise interference and conflicting activities, they were able to create a design that promotes harmony and inclusivity.

With its innovative design, functionality, and positive impact on public spaces, Whirl-Hide Square Light has received widespread acclaim. In 2018, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures category. This award recognizes designs that exhibit technical and creative excellence while contributing to improvements in quality of life.
