Uniview VDC12500: A Revolutionary Server Design

Wang Wei Guo, Wu Jie, and Zheng Yong's Innovative Solution to Traditional Server Limitations

The Uniview VDC12500, a server design inspired by the bridge, represents a significant leap in the field of intelligent services. This innovative design, conceived by Wang Wei Guo, Wu Jie, and Zheng Yong, addresses two major issues in traditional servers: the limitation of a single server to single service analysis, and the excessive space occupied by multiple servers.

Wang Wei Guo, Wu Jie, and Zheng Yong were inspired by the bridge, a symbol of connection, to create a product that meets the integrated delivery requirements for high integration, density, and cluster scheduling of intelligent services in the public security industry. The Uniview VDC12500 server is a unique solution that solves the problem of deploying multiple intelligent servers with high equipment room costs to implement various intelligent services.

The server's unique properties lie in its ability to support cluster scheduling and service integration, features not found in traditional servers. The plug-in structure allows multiple service boards to be installed in a single chassis, achieving high-density convergence of multiple intelligent services. This design not only delivers a comprehensive scheduling mechanism covering the chip, board, and server, but also greatly saves space costs for the equipment room.

Produced using SGCC and ABS materials through mould processing and panel beating, the Uniview VDC12500 server is a compact, multi-function intelligent server that is highly reliable and scalable. Its high-density hardware design for a single frame with multiple service boards provides a cluster scheduling management mechanism and high reliability when multiple services are running simultaneously.

The server's design and functionality are a result of extensive research and development that began in October 2016 in Torino and concluded in August 2018 in Hangzhou. The team's research led to the creation of a server that supports high-density use of multiple service boards in a single chassis, allowing for cluster scheduling to balance service load. The server's target market is the public security industry, including public security organs, traffic police organs, colleges and universities, and airports.

For their innovative design, Wang Wei Guo, Wu Jie, and Zheng Yong were awarded the Silver A' Digital and Electronic Device Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The Uniview VDC12500 server is a testament to the designers' technical skills and artistic prowess, introducing a new level of excellence in the field of server design.
