Hongyanxi: Gold Tea Packaging Design

Unveiling the Essence of Western Hunan's Gold Tea

Through a fusion of modern design and ethnic minority culture, Preaker's Hongyanxi packaging showcases the unique characteristics of Gold Tea, captivating consumers with its aesthetic appeal.

Gold Tea, originating from Western Hunan, stands apart from other teas due to the region's geographical location, culture, customs, and lifestyle. Preaker's goal was to retain these distinct qualities and present them in a modern and captivating manner, allowing consumers to not only understand the product but also have a unique aesthetic experience.

The greatest strength of the Hongyanxi Gold Tea packaging lies in its ability to bridge commerce and ethnic minority characteristics. While the package is designed for commercial purposes, it remains true to the essence of the tea, showcasing its quality and local attributes. The design evokes a sense of a healthy and original ecological experience, without compromising the rich national flavor.

Utilizing environmentally friendly materials such as cardboard and kraft paper, the packaging is not only visually appealing but also sustainable. The use of traditional printing processes keeps production costs low, allowing for a fast and efficient manufacturing process. The specifications of the packaging measure 190mm x 300mm x 60mm, providing ample space to display the tea and its unique design.

The Hongyanxi Gold Tea packaging design focuses on the main visual pattern, highlighting the characteristics of the tea-producing region and depicting scenes of ethnic minority girls picking tea. This intuitive representation allows consumers to immediately recognize the difference between this tea and others in the market. By immersing consumers in the primitive and pure ambiance of Western Hunan, the packaging emphasizes the precious quality of the tea.

The project, which took place from September 2018 to January 2019 in Changsha, involved extensive research on ethnic minority cultures. The challenge lay in striking a balance between preserving the minority culture of Western Hunan and effectively promoting the commercial aspects of the product. Preaker successfully integrated modern fashion design with ethnic minority elements, resulting in a packaging design that authentically represents the region's culture while appealing to a wider audience.

Preaker's Hongyanxi Gold Tea packaging design has been recognized for its excellence, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving the quality of life. By incorporating the best practices in art, science, design, and technology, Preaker's design contributes to making the world a better place.
