The design of the Folks Café was inspired by a quote from F.S. Fitzgerald: "Too much of anything is bad, but too much Champagne is just right." This sentiment is reflected in the café's brass sparkles, marble murals, and gold suspensions, which create an atmosphere of celebration and joy. The café is divided into a welcome area for quick coffee breaks and a relaxing area for longer chats, with floor patterns made of brass guiding guests through the space.

The uniqueness of the Folks Café lies in its balance. The café's design incorporates elements of traditional Ukrainian culture, with plates and sculptures from local artists and a floor pattern inspired by traditional designs. These elements are balanced by modern touches, such as the marble murals that contrast with the rough concrete walls. The result is a space that is both comfortable and visually striking.

The café's design was realized using a variety of materials, including tiles, Coverlam, brass tubes and profiles, concrete, murals, and decorative plaster. The design process began in April 2016 and was completed two years later. Despite challenges such as a low ceiling and divided walls, the design team was able to create a united space with a central fireplace that serves as the heart of the café.

One of the key strengths of the Folks Café's design is its understanding of customer behavior. By observing how guests choose their tables and comfort zones, the café's staff can better meet their needs. This understanding has led to an increase in the café's income, demonstrating the power of design in driving business success.

The Folks Café's design has been recognized with a Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is given to designs that showcase outstanding expertise and innovation, and that introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder. With its unique blend of traditional and modern elements, the Folks Café is a deserving recipient of this honor.
