Cromia Mipel Milano: A Transformable Stand Inspired by Bags

Creating a Unique and Dynamic Showcase for Cromia

The Cromia Mipel Milano stand, designed by Franco Pupillo, is a stunning example of how inspiration from everyday objects can be transformed into innovative design. Inspired by the shape of a bag, the stand features two bright side walls that change with each season, coordinating with the displayed products in the exhibition window. This transformable stand showcases the brand's collections in a dynamic and visually captivating way.

The Cromia Mipel Milano stand stands out with its unique design and attention to detail. The exhibition parallelepipeds, made of wood with a cement-like finish, create a striking backdrop for the showcased products. The main interior wall is adorned with two S-shaped shelves, illuminated by LEDs, adding a touch of modernity and sophistication to the space. The display case is carefully set up for each edition, harmonizing with the walls of the stand and creating a cohesive and immersive experience for visitors. To complete the welcoming atmosphere, a bar is integrated into the interior, offering a place for visitors to relax and engage with the brand.

What sets the Cromia Mipel Milano stand apart is its ability to transform and adapt to different seasons and collections. The inspiration for the stand came from the shape of a bag, which is reflected in the design of the external walls. By changing the covering sheets on the large LED lights, the stand can be customized for each season, creating a fresh and exciting look with every edition. This adaptability not only keeps the stand visually interesting but also allows for a more engaging presentation of the collections.

The realization of the Cromia Mipel Milano stand involved the use of lacquered wood and finished wood with a cement effect. The two side walls are covered with prints on backlit arlight banners, adding a vibrant and eye-catching element to the overall design. The stand measures 14 meters in length, 9 meters in width, and has a height of 3 meters, providing ample space for the display of the brand's products.

The Cromia Mipel Milano stand was first introduced at the September 2016 edition of MICAM in Milan and has since become a regular installation at the fair, appearing twice a year. The project was a result of extensive research aimed at capturing the essence of the Cromia brand and creating a unique and representative stand. The success of the project led to the creation of Cromia stores in Milan and Rome, further solidifying the brand's identity and presence in the fashion industry.

The Cromia Mipel Milano stand presented several challenges that were successfully overcome by the design team. The main challenge was to create a stand that would effectively showcase the Cromia brand and enhance the presentation of its bags. By giving the stand a bright and representative design, the team was able to create a contemporary identity that resonated with visitors and highlighted the brand's products.

The Cromia Mipel Milano stand, with its transformable and visually captivating design, has received recognition for its excellence. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2019 in the category of Trade Show Architecture, Interiors, and Exhibit Design. This prestigious award recognizes the stand's well-designed, practical, and innovative features that meet professional and industrial requirements. The Cromia Mipel Milano stand is a testament to the power of design to create immersive and memorable experiences.
