Enjoy Life: A Delightful Industrial Style Residence

Transforming a Home into a Playful Haven

Located on the ground floor, the public space of Enjoy Life underwent a significant transformation. The solid wall between the living room and kitchen was removed, and sliding and folding doors were installed to create a flexible layout. This allows the female client, who loves cooking, to easily take care of her children while maintaining an open and permeable space.

The design of Enjoy Life is characterized by its strong industrial style, which is evident in the raw cement texture of the walls, metal elements, wood accents, stone countertops, distressed wallpaper, and leather furniture. These elements create visual layers and add depth to the space, while also injecting a sense of playfulness and free spirit.

One of the standout features of Enjoy Life is the retro elevator door-shaped bathroom on the first floor. This realistic and whimsical design element adds a touch of nostalgia and fun to the space. Additionally, the photo wall on the second floor can be easily changed, allowing the occupants to showcase their favorite memories and adapt the space to their evolving tastes.

Despite its unique design, Enjoy Life faced several challenges during construction. The existing building restrictions posed limitations, and during the cement finishing phase, it was discovered that there was only a 4-inch gap between the building and the neighboring structure. This led to water seepage issues, which required reinforcement measures to be taken for both properties.

Completed in October 2018, Enjoy Life is a testament to the creativity and ingenuity of designers Hsin Hui Chang and Liang Chun Kuo. This project received the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2020 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This award recognizes designs that are well-designed, practical, and innovative, meeting professional and industrial requirements while contributing to a better world.
