Revolutionizing Tea Packaging: The Pah Ji Hue Design

Chung-Yuan Kuo, Wei-Jen Huang and Ann Ching's Innovative Approach to Tea Packaging

In a world where packaging design is as crucial as the product itself, the Pah Ji Hue tea packaging stands out. This innovative design, a brainchild of Chung-Yuan Kuo, Wei-Jen Huang, and Ann Ching, redefines the traditional concept of tea packaging, infusing it with a modern, urban design style.

The Pah Ji Hue tea packaging design draws its inspiration from the essence of tea making. Unlike the youthful images often associated with tea, this design strengthens the professional and steady-going brand image of Pah Ji Hue. It does this through a combination of Taiwan classic tea and Taiwan fruit tea products, creating a mellow and smooth taste that resonates with the rounded can image.

What sets this design apart is its unique properties. With tea culture as the brand core, Pah Ji Hue augments cultural and creative tea products. The simple and elegant illustration outlines the urban design style, while the wooden box is adopted to share products of the two, realizing the effective integrated design and expansion of gift.

The design realization technology employed involves offset print for packages, both iron and paper box. The top of the iron box is convex via modeling, with different printing layers on the surfaces of the packages. This design project started in March 2018 in Taiwan and was completed in September 2019.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was breaking the original concept of tasting tea. The wooden box was designed to fix two different types of tea products and could also be used as a storage box. This innovative approach to tea packaging was recognized with a Silver A' Packaging Design Award in 2020, a testament to its creativity and professional excellence.

In conclusion, the Pah Ji Hue tea packaging design is a perfect blend of traditional tea culture and modern design aesthetics. It not only enhances the brand image of Pah Ji Hue but also provides a unique tea-tasting experience for consumers. This innovative design approach is a clear indication of the potential of packaging design in enhancing product appeal and brand image.
