Heart By Tree: A Serene Villa House Amidst Nature

Blending Tradition and Innovation for a Unique Living Experience

The Heart By Tree villa, designed by Summer Chang Hin Cheong, is a stunning example of modern architecture that seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings. Inspired by the traditional Chinese courtyard house concept, this villa offers a harmonious blend of temperature, serenity, and protection against wildlife intrusion. With its unique design and innovative features, the Heart By Tree villa provides a cozy environment that brings families together.

The villa is formed by four blocks of building, surrounding a courtyard. One of the standout features is the use of lawn and willow plants as roofs for the bedrooms, providing excellent heat insulation. Additionally, two iconic tall ancestral trees have been transplanted within the compound, serving as a token of gratitude to the owner's great contribution to society.

In terms of construction, the Heart By Tree villa prioritizes cost-efficiency and environmental sustainability. Zinc and fiber are used as the chassis for the lawn roof, taking into account the hot climate in Malaysia. The decoration section incorporates materials that have been abandoned by factories, such as ceramic tiles, granite, and glass, giving them a new lease on life.

Spanning over 10,000 square feet, the Heart By Tree villa offers complete comfort and relaxation for leisure travel and holidays. The architectural concept of a Courtyard House is evident throughout the villa, with its high-ceiling lobby, karaoke lounge, kitchen and dining area, outdoor barbecue, swimming pool, and eight bedrooms encircling the pond. The choice of plants, including the lawn, willow plants, and ancestral trees, adds to the villa's charm and symbolism.

Despite its beauty, the construction of the Heart By Tree villa faced its fair share of challenges. Built on a hill, heavy rain during the construction process posed difficulties. The transplantation of a 5-tonne old tree required three attempts before it was successfully relocated. However, these challenges were overcome, resulting in a truly remarkable architectural achievement.

The Heart By Tree villa project began in October 2019 in Gunung Pulai and is set to be completed in July 2020. The design team, led by Creative Director Summer Chang and Design Assistant Jay Ng Kian Cong, conducted extensive research to create a unique leisure villa house that stands out in Malaysia.

The Heart By Tree villa has been recognized for its excellence and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2020. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate outstanding ingenuity, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. The villa's strong technical and creative skills contribute to quality of life improvements, making it a truly exceptional living space.

With its seamless integration of nature and modern design, the Heart By Tree villa offers a serene and luxurious living experience. It is a testament to the innovative spirit of Summer Chang Hin Cheong and his team, who have created a masterpiece that combines tradition, innovation, and the beauty of nature.
