Toro: The Future of Medium Size Coaches

Anadolu Isuzu Design Team's Innovative Approach to Public Transportation

The inspiration behind Toro's design stems from a blend of existing Anadolu Isuzu models, Novo and Turquoise, and the desire to create a low-cost and low-consumption vehicle. The team also incorporated technological gadget usage, which influenced the design of dynamic daytime running lamps, signal lamps, and taillights, contributing to the brand identity and distinguishing the vehicle in the dark.

What sets Toro apart is its spacious layout and luggage capacity, both for the driver and passengers, which is the largest among its competitors. Measuring 8.5 meters, Toro is an ideal partner for short and medium-haul journeys of service, touristic, and airport transportations. It also boasts the lowest fuel consumption within the same length, making it a cost-effective choice for operators.

The outer shell of Toro is a blend of fiber-reinforced polymer, sheet metal, perforated sheet metal, and tempered glass, strategically used according to locational needs. Inside, the carriers are made of aluminium and steel, while the interior features a mix of Abs, Pu, Pvc, formica, aluminium, fabric, vinyl, and various composites.

Toro's design was a collaborative effort by the Anadolu Isuzu Design Team, including Ezgi Ozcelikel, Gorkem Erdogan, Kunter Aytekin, Ozge Fati, and Sadik Gelirli. The project, which began in November 2018, is set to be completed in July 2020 in Kocaeli, Turkey.

The design process involved extensive research, including examining domestic and foreign markets, assessing customer feedback on existing products, and conducting benchmark and field researches. The team also studied upcoming form and CMF trends. The most challenging parts of the project were achieving the largest luggage capacity and lowest fuel consumption amongst its competitors, while using the maximum carry over parts from Anadolu Isuzu models Novo and Turquoise.

Toro's innovative design and functionality have not gone unnoticed. The vehicle was awarded Silver in A' Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design Award in 2020, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation. With Toro, the Anadolu Isuzu Design Team has truly taken public transportation design to a whole new level.
