Mini Bike: The Perfect Last Mile Electric Bicycle

A Compact and Convenient Solution for Urban Transportation

The Mini Bike, designed by Brian Hoehl, is a unique and innovative electric bicycle that aims to revolutionize urban transportation. Inspired by insights from a user panel consisting of 500 individuals in urban areas, this compact and lightweight bike is specifically designed to meet the needs of city dwellers.

The Mini Bike stands out from other electric bicycles with its small and handy construction. Weighing only 11.5 kilograms, it is incredibly lightweight and easy to maneuver through crowded streets. The bike features 20" wheels, which contribute to its mini and compact concept, making it ideal for navigating tight spaces and congested urban environments.

One of the standout features of the Mini Bike is its folding capability. This allows users to easily fold and unfold the bike, making it convenient for storage and transportation. The battery is elegantly hidden within the frame, maintaining the sleek and minimalist design of the bike.

Despite its compact size, the Mini Bike offers a smooth and comfortable ride. The geometry of the bike is designed to provide excellent driving behavior, ensuring stability and control. This design element sets it apart from other electric bicycles in the market.

The Mini Bike is the result of extensive research and development. The design team, led by Brian Hoehl, conducted research in aerodynamics and weight ratio to stiffness of the frames. This innovative approach has not been explored in the electric bicycle industry before, making the Mini Bike a trailblazer in its field.

One of the main challenges faced during the design process was reducing the weight of the bike while incorporating a battery and motor. To overcome this, the team utilized unconventional materials such as carbon and kevlar instead of traditional metals and alloys. This allowed them to achieve a record-breaking weight for an electric bicycle.

The Mini Bike measures 110 cm x 145 cm x 85 cm, making it compact and easy to store in small living spaces or carry onto public transportation. Its lightweight and foldable design make it the perfect last mile solution for commuters.

The Mini Bike was developed and manufactured in Croatia over a period of 12 months. The dedication and expertise of the design team, including Brian Hoehl, Ivan Saban, and Sasa Stih, resulted in a truly innovative and practical urban transportation solution.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Vehicle, Mobility, and Transportation Design category in 2020. The Mini Bike showcases outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skill, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making urban commuting more efficient and enjoyable.
