Lure Union: A Reunion-themed Residential Interior Design

Bringing Families Together in Style and Functionality

Inspired by the longing for togetherness, Ming-Hong Tsai's Lure Union is a two-story residential house master-planning that revolves around the concept of reunion. With a focus on enjoyable styles and multi-functional planning, this design caters to both the elder and young generation of the family, while also incorporating accessible design elements to comply with aging society trends.

The Lure Union house, spanning a construction area of 222 square meters, stands out with its unique and thoughtful features. The design incorporates annular rings of wood, symbolizing the metaphors of reunion and adding a touch of profound Asian undertones. Various wood colors are used throughout the space, with deep-color wood veneering creating a poised ambiance in the open living sections, and moderate wood hues bringing out relaxing vibes in the tea room and home library.

One of the key aspects of the Lure Union design is the seamless integration of different sections through the use of glass sliding doors. By splitting the wide rectangular space into cubicles and incorporating sliding doors on the same wall, the design achieves a harmonious flow and allows for better day-lighting conditions in the open-concept living areas. This not only enhances the overall aesthetic appeal but also creates a more functional and inviting environment for the residents.

Throughout the design process, Ming-Hong Tsai and the design team faced the challenge of blending multifarious interior styles without discord or haphazard arrangement. Additionally, they had to ensure that the design could accommodate the needs of future 3-generation family members, balancing leisure and habitable functions. By carefully considering every detail, from color coordination to layout planning, the team successfully created a space that seamlessly combines different preferences and functions.

The Lure Union project, which started in November 2019 and was completed in May 2020, is located in Taoyuan City. The design was driven by extensive research into the "greatest common divisor" among various décor styles, with a focus on color coordination to create a cohesive interior. The result is a design that not only reflects the concept of reunion but also provides a comfortable and visually appealing living space for the entire family.

Lure Union has been recognized for its excellence in design, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in 2021 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. Lure Union stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its contribution to a better world through fulfillment and positive feelings.
