Ben Wu's Award-Winning Villa Design Embraces Nature and Oriental Aesthetics

Paradise Village stands out for its unique approach to design. Wu's design respects nature and ecology, maximizing the resource advantages of the surrounding environment. The design links the relationship between man and nature using contemporary methods, with time, space, and light serving as links. The result is a space that embodies the unity of man and nature, offering spiritual strength to its inhabitants.

The villa's realization is a testament to Wu's innovative approach. Straw wallpaper and bamboo elements evoke a natural temperament within the oriental order. The lattice door, a staple in oriental architecture, creates a play of light and shadow, opening and closing with the rotation of the central axis.

Located in Zhejiang Anji, the villa spans an area of 674 square meters and was completed in April 2020. The design process presented several challenges, primarily the need to balance the spiritual pursuit of a Peach Garden with the contemporary desire to return to nature. Wu overcame these challenges by integrating the environment of the times with the natural landscape, creating a space that resonates with modern sensibilities while staying true to traditional values.
