The HQ: A Multifunctional Table for Work and Dining

During the pandemic, many people found themselves frustrated with the constant presence of their partners or spouses while working from home. Nora Voon and her team recognized this issue and set out to create a product that would provide privacy during working hours while still serving as a functional dining table. The result was the HQ, a table that ticks all the boxes for a work office setup and doubles as a stylish dining surface.

What sets the HQ apart from other tables on the market is its multifunctionality. It features a removable separator panel that allows multiple people to work comfortably while maintaining social distancing. The table is designed to be assembled like Lego, with interlocking panels that require no screws or nails. This not only makes assembly a breeze but also ensures a sturdy and durable structure.

The HQ is made from Ecoboard, an eco-friendly alternative to traditional MDF. Ecoboard is composed of 100% high-quality natural wheat straw, a by-product of agricultural harvests that is typically discarded. By using this sustainable material, the HQ reduces its environmental impact while still delivering on quality and functionality.

In addition to its practical design, the HQ also incorporates thoughtful features such as magnetic paint on the separator panel. This allows users to easily attach notes, reminders, or important documents, keeping their workspace organized and efficient. The table also includes storage space for office supplies and neatly conceals cords for computers and phones.

With dimensions of 70”w x 40”d x 30”h (1778mm x 1016mm x 762mm), the HQ is compact enough to fit in smaller homes or condos. It comes in three vibrant colors - Teal, Hot Pink, and Neon Yellow - adding a pop of personality to any space. The table ships in a flat pack, making it easy to transport and assemble.

The HQ has garnered recognition for its innovative design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2021.
