YangYang: A Unique Chinese Restaurant Inspired by Nature

Bringing Suzhou-style Cuisine to Busy People

The nature-inspired design of YangYang restaurant combines traditional Suzhou elements with modern aesthetics, creating a relaxing and visually stunning dining experience.

The warm sunlight filtering through the architectural forest prints the silhouette of the shuttle, setting the tone for the serene atmosphere of YangYang. Designed by Helen Huang, Fanyu Meng, and their team, this Chinese restaurant aims to provide a small relaxation of Suzhou-style cuisine to busy people.

Strolling through the lobby and private rooms, guests are greeted by flower windows and bookshelves, creating a sense of separation and intrigue. The different scenery, featuring flowers, birds, and landscapes, appears vividly and interestingly, immersing diners in the beauty of Suzhou.

What sets YangYang apart from other Chinese restaurants is its unique spatial design. The design team has introduced the thematic concept of "bird songs and fragrant flowers," which expresses Suzhou's unique fine brush flower-and-bird painting in the spatial decoration. This modern interpretation of traditional Suzhou lifestyle adds depth to the space recognition and maintains the display integration unique to the shopping mall.

The premium shades of gray run throughout the entire 1000 sqm space, toning down the heavy and thick colors in each segment. The divided large and small halls feature distinctive patterns, making the space versatile and adaptive to the diverse needs of customers. Whether it's a casual seating area for business meals or afternoon tea, YangYang provides a comfortable and inviting ambiance for all occasions.

Folding doors are used between the boxes, allowing flexibility in accommodating different group sizes. Each box is adorned with a different color, providing customers with a unique and personalized dining experience.

YangYang restaurant, located in Suzhou, was a project that started in October 2019 and was completed in January 2020. The design team faced the challenge of creating a Chinese restaurant that stood out in a sea of indistinguishable establishments. By incorporating the theme of birds and flowers, as well as traditional Suzhou calligraphy and birds in the spatial decoration, they successfully created a space that captures the essence of Chinese culture while offering a memorable dining experience.

YangYang restaurant has been recognized for its outstanding design and was awarded the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2021. This award signifies the restaurant's well-designed, practical, and innovative approach, meeting professional and industrial requirements. YangYang's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contributes to a better world, providing fulfillment and positive feelings to its guests.
