The journey of transformation embarked upon by the design trio is a narrative of space reimagined. The 'Whitecore Style' they employed serves as a canvas of white, accentuated by shades of greyish black, to amplify the spatial experience. The design is a harmonious symphony of curves, replacing the rigidity of traditional office spaces with organic, asymmetrical forms that breathe life into the work environment.
At the core of this design lies a palette of low-saturation colors—black, white, and grey—that evoke a sense of timelessness and intellectuality. These neutral tones foster a tranquil atmosphere conducive to creativity and productivity. The office's standout feature, its organic curves, softens the minimalism with a touch of elegance. The second-floor curve, paired with a moon-patterned grey wall, becomes a statement of avant-garde style, encapsulating modern efficiency.
The material selection underscores the design's commitment to durability and aesthetic appeal. Laminate flooring, woodwork, and stone pattern fabrics merge to create a foundation that is both visually appealing and practical. The design team's strategic use of materials not only enhances the visual depth but also ensures ease of maintenance, an essential consideration for any office space.
Respecting the building's history, the design team meticulously reconfigured the 50-year-old structure, optimizing its 99.1 square meters to foster openness and fluidity. Strategic removal of walls and the introduction of matte glass partitions have allowed for a seamless flow of light and movement, while the outdoor yard offers a tranquil retreat for staff to recharge amidst greenery.
The design's interaction with its users is a testament to thoughtful planning. By removing barriers, the team has crafted a space that not only elevates work efficiency but also provides a sanctuary from stress. The bathroom, with its indirect lighting and curved tiles, stands as an artistic centerpiece, offering a memorable experience for both visitors and staff.
'The Beauty of the Orient: Grey Modern Design Studio' is not just a renovation; it's a redefinition of the office concept. The design team has successfully navigated the challenges of revitalizing an old structure, transforming it into a space that exudes calm, fosters concentration, and enhances the well-being of its inhabitants. The office is now a place where work and wellness walk hand in hand, wrapped in the elegance of modern minimalism.
Chun-Cheng Lee, Tzu-Chien Huang, and Chih-Chih Chung's project is a celebration of design that stands as a proud recipient of the Iron A' Design Award. Their work is a testament to the power of design to not only change spaces but to uplift the human experience within them.
