Xianfeng Wu's Innovative Approach to Tea Packaging Design

Xianfeng Wu's inspiration for this design came from the tea's origin, Yibin, known as the "China Bamboo Sea." Famous for its bamboo production, Yibin is also home to the high-quality green tea, Linhu Queshe. Wu's design encapsulates the cultural characteristics of this region, transforming the packaging into a bamboo-festival shape. This unique design not only saves space and reduces logistics costs during transportation but also creates a beautiful display when overlapped on the shelf, mimicking a bamboo forest.

What sets this design apart from traditional Chinese tea packaging is its lightness and ease of use. The packaging is made of aluminum, which is light and elegant in color. The product's dimensions are 47mmX47mmX65mm, making it compact and convenient for storage and display.

Wu's design process involved careful consideration of not only the product's consumers but also the customers' experience and the product's shelf impact. The use of materials, product convenience, environmental considerations, and recycling were all factors that influenced the design and ultimately contributed to the product's sales.

The journey to the final product was not without its challenges. Both color and texture underwent multiple proofing stages. Through close communication with manufacturers, Wu was able to perfect the final product, which has received positive market feedback.

The Linhu Queshe Green Tea packaging design was recognized with a Silver A' Packaging Design Award in 2021.
