The Sports Familyization mobile application, designed by Shuo Wang, aims to address this challenge by helping families develop exercise habits. By providing exercise tasks and goals, this app encourages users to stay active and connected with their loved ones.
The app offers three types of tasks: personal tasks, family tasks, and bounty tasks. Personal tasks are tailored to individual users, while family tasks promote bonding and healthy bodies among family members. Bounty tasks allow users to reward and encourage each other, creating a positive and motivating environment.
Users can easily accept their favorite sports tasks based on their free time. They can also publish their own sports tasks, specifying the task type, recipient, and location options. For example, a user can create a task to take their son to the gym for swimming practice, and family members will receive task reminders. The app also provides a task details interface where users can track the progress and status of family members' tasks.
The user interface of the Sports Familyization app was meticulously designed using Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, and Figma. It is compatible with all Android and iOS smartphones, ensuring accessibility for a wide range of users.
Shuo Wang conducted extensive research on exercise habits, interviewing about 60 people to understand why they struggle to maintain regular exercise routines. This research, combined with market analysis and insights from Charles Duhigg's book "The Power of Habit," informed the logical and user-centered design of the app.
The Sports Familyization app not only addresses the challenge of maintaining exercise habits but also aims to make sports more interesting and engaging. By providing users with a variety of sports tasks and flexible scheduling options, the app encourages users to view exercise as an enjoyable activity. The family tasks feature strengthens the bond between family members and fosters a supportive environment for achieving fitness goals. Reward tasks further motivate users to achieve excellent exercise results.
This innovative mobile application has been recognized for its excellence and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Mobile Technologies, Applications, and Software Design category in 2022. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate resourcefulness, technical expertise, and contributions to improving quality of life.
With Sports Familyization, Shuo Wang has created a powerful tool for families to develop healthy exercise habits, stay connected, and make fitness a fun and rewarding experience.
