Qingdao Tengyuan Design's Innovative Approach to Museum Architecture

The Pingyuan Mysterious Stone Art museum is located in a serene spot in Dezhou, with the eastern side facing a stone garden and the rest of the area surrounded by a plain. The museum is designed to serve as a cultural tourism resource, featuring gem collection, art exchange, rare stone trading, and auction. With its unique design, it aims to become a resounding name card of the cultural industry in Dezhou.

The design inspiration for the museum stems from the owner's obsession with all kinds of rare stones. The designers treated the entire museum as a massive stone, breaking it into four parts for different exhibitions. The integration of an atrium with light connects the four stone exhibitions, making the museum a beacon, a huge mysterious exhibit in itself, attracting people to come.

The museum's unique properties lie in its architectural design and its function. The main facade consists of 550mm*1100mm stone panels, and the Southern and Eastern sides of the podium use a large overhang structure to form a transparent space using a large area of glass. The museum's design and function form a cultural tourism resource advantage featuring gem collection, art exchange, rare stone trading, and auction.

The realization of this design was not without challenges. The project has a simple shape but requires a high focus on the structure. The most significant challenge was creating the overhanging structure due to the corners cut close to the ground. However, the architects and engineers successfully overcame this obstacle, resulting in a stunning architectural marvel.
