Rana: A Bold and Elegant Statement Earring Design

A Fusion of Modern Architecture and Traditional Beauty

Inspired by a love for modern architectural design and a deep appreciation for the beauty of ethnic jewelry, Borghezia created Rana to embody the best of both worlds. The earrings feature a striking design that captures the essence of modern architecture, while still exuding the charm and sophistication of traditional jewelry.

What sets Rana apart from other earrings is its dual look option. The dangle attachments are interchangeable, allowing the earrings to be worn as stud earrings as well. This innovative feature adds versatility to the design, making it suitable for various occasions and personal styles.

The realization of Rana involved a meticulous process, starting from sketches and 3D drawings, followed by the creation of prototypes, molds, and finally, production. The earrings are made of 18k IP gold-plated brass, adorned with glass stones that add a touch of sparkle and elegance.

With a diameter of 0.98" (2.5 cm) and a length of 3.5" (9 cm), Rana makes a bold statement without being overwhelming. Its sleek and sophisticated design complements both casual and formal attire, making it a versatile accessory for any fashion-forward individual.

The design process for Rana began in September 2019 in Indonesia and was completed in January 2020. Throughout the project, the Borghezia team faced the challenge of combining the bold, structured look of modern architecture with the elegance of traditional jewelry. However, their dedication and creativity resulted in a design that seamlessly merges these two elements.

Rana has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2022. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate exceptional technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
