The Changer Day and Day: A Vibrant and Cultural Residential Architecture

Bringing Lively Colors to the Urban Landscape

Taking inspiration from the vibrant city of Amsterdam, Changer Construction Co., Ltd has created The Changer Day and Day, a residential architecture that challenges the traditional color palette of Taiwan's buildings. With its avant-garde concept and unique use of colors and materials, this design aims to shape the skyline of residential architecture in Taiwan.

The culture of color usage on buildings in Taiwan tends to be restrained, with most metropolitan architectures opting for earth tones or greyish shades. However, The Changer Day and Day breaks away from this convention by daringly choosing white as the main color of the building. This vibrant use of colors, materials, and irregular layout creates a striking difference on the urban landscape, injecting a sense of energy and liveliness.

One of the unique properties of this design is the incorporation of Japanese traditional colors of kimono on the frames of balconies. Colors such as ice green, barely white, patrinia flower, and arrow feather (yagasuri) symbolize different stages of life - purity, newborn, adolescence, and marriage. By integrating these colors into the design concept, The Changer Day and Day brings blessings of life and cultural aesthetics to the forefront.

Technologically, the design of The Changer Day and Day focuses on sustainability and efficiency. Recessed windows and protruded balconies on the exterior of the building serve as sun shading elements, reducing electricity consumption. Self-cleaning tiles are used to minimize the need for frequent repairs or cleaning, protecting the building from acid rain and dust. Additionally, the white color chosen for the building helps lower the oppressive impact of high-rise buildings in the city, creating a more harmonious visual experience.

The Changer Day and Day, spanning over 3022 square meters, is a testament to the meticulous research and creative problem-solving undertaken by the design team. Balconies are strategically arranged to ensure every resident enjoys the same size and the same right to the seaside view. The rectangular geometric shape on the rooftop adds a dynamic element to the skyline, especially when illuminated at night. The overall design aims to create a tranquil atmosphere for residents while infusing the city with a vibrant energy.

Completed in October 2021 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, The Changer Day and Day has garnered recognition for its innovative approach to residential architecture. The design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The Changer Day and Day stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its contribution to a better world.

The Changer Day and Day is not just a residential architecture; it is a celebration of vibrant colors, cultural aesthetics, and sustainable design. By challenging the norms and pushing the boundaries of traditional architecture, Changer Construction Co., Ltd has created a truly unique and captivating living space that connects closely with daily life and everyday aesthetics.
