The packaging inspiration for DamoWang Taurine Energy Drink comes from the Chinese mythological figure Chiyou, known as the god of war and the inventor of cold weapons. The design aims to convey a message of praise and encouragement to hardworking individuals, drawing upon the legend of Chiyou to inspire success in daily work.

The DamoWang Taurine Energy Drink stands out from other energy drinks on the market due to its unique combination of traditional Chinese herbal medicines and a packaging design that conveys a powerful message. While most consumers turn to energy drinks to refresh themselves in extreme circumstances, they often feel exhausted once the initial effect wears off. To address this issue, the designers of DamoWang have added traditional Chinese herbal medicines such as Ginseng and Chinese wolfberry, known for their revitalizing properties, to replenish the body's vitality.

What sets DamoWang apart is not just its ingredients, but also its packaging. The designers have used the packaging itself to deliver a direct psychological hint through images and gestures. The thumbs-up gesture on the can symbolizes strength and resilience, reminding consumers that they are amazing and unbreakable. This unique approach to packaging design adds an extra layer of motivation and positivity to the energy drink experience.

The realization of the DamoWang Taurine Energy Drink involves high gloss iron transparent printing on iron cans. This choice of material and printing technique not only enhances the visual appeal of the product but also provides a tactile experience that is more powerful and satisfying compared to plastic or glass containers. The 250mL iron cans were specifically chosen to optimize the holding experience, and their metal construction ensures that the drink stays colder for longer, allowing consumers to enjoy a refreshing beverage.

The DamoWang Taurine Energy Drink project started in August 2021 and was completed in February 2022, with the design phase concluding in December 2021. The production took place in Shanghai, China. Throughout the design process, the team faced challenges in working with iron cans, including limitations in layout and color changes during production. However, through meticulous adjustments and calibration, they were able to overcome these obstacles and achieve the desired visual and tactile qualities.

The design of DamoWang Taurine Energy Drink is rooted in extensive research and draws inspiration from Chinese mythology and historical figures. The choice to depict Chiyou, a well-known figure in Chinese culture, was made to establish a connection with consumers based on existing beliefs and stories. By encouraging customers to find their inner "DAMOWANG" (an invincible person with extraordinary ability), the design aims to instill confidence and trust in the product.

The DamoWang Taurine Energy Drink has been recognized for its creative and ingenious design, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2022. This prestigious award acknowledges the incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology, as well as the contribution to improving the quality of life. DamoWang exemplifies the fusion of tradition and innovation, making it a standout choice in the functional beverage market.
