Love: Tableware Packaging Inspired by Eastern and Western Cultures

Combining Conflicting Beauty and Innovative Design

The Love tableware packaging stands out with its distinctive features and strengths. Structurally, the packaging consists of one large box and three smaller inside boxes, offering consumers a double surprise. The inside boxes are inspired by the Chinese Taoist concept of "one life two, two birth three, three life all things," symbolizing the cycle of life and the interconnectedness of all things.

The color green, chosen for the packaging, not only exudes a sense of high quality and elegance but also represents environmental protection, peace, nature, and vitality. This choice aligns with the increasing importance of sustainability and eco-consciousness in modern design.

The pattern on the packaging embodies the Chinese philosophical concept of the round sky and square earth, derived from the yin and yang theory. This design concept represents the harmonious balance between opposing forces, creating a visually striking and meaningful aesthetic.

The Love tableware packaging is crafted using gray cardboard and whiteboard, combining gilding and excitation processes. These techniques ensure a high-quality finish that enhances the overall appeal of the product.

Measuring at Width 245mm x Depth 285mm x Height 60mm, the Love tableware packaging is designed to accommodate Western knives, forks, and spoons, providing a stylish and functional storage solution.

Yan Li embarked on the Love tableware packaging project in March 2022 in Shenzhen, completing it in April 2022. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted on traditional Chinese culture, Western tableware, and the market demand for such products. This research laid the foundation for the unique and culturally rich design of Love.

The Love tableware packaging presented several challenges that were overcome with meticulous craftsmanship. The goal was to achieve a perfect presentation of the design, ensuring that every detail reflected the designer's vision.

Recognized for its excellence, the Love tableware packaging was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2023. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
