The Il Pausa House was born out of Satria's fascination with the idea of combining pure, elementary architectural knowledge with an unorthodox approach to design. The house was designed with a specific mindset that unites various psychological elements, allowing for the creation of a unique and captivating space.

The house's unique properties lie in its calculated geometric and sculpture-like interventions on the facade, which exploit the tension between conflicting elements. In contrast, the internal areas are designed to have greater fluidity in transition between spaces, both horizontally and vertically. The house is designed to welcome visitors at the entrance, creating an inviting atmosphere.

The design of the Il Pausa House is defined by the application of a parametric-based system for the geometry and structure. The geometry is optimized to the sunlight and reflection that goes uniformly inside the house. This approach was driven through a detailed solar analysis on the structure, with great attentiveness given to the eastern and western facades. The distribution of the facade's openings were heavily contingent on view axes, occupant height, and the uniform distribution of natural light.

The project, which started in February 2016 and finished in February 2022, faced several challenges. The primary difficulty was to address the client's request to live in a home that is visually stunning and unique, yet simultaneously maintain the conventional cultural requirements of a local home. Despite these challenges, the final result is a unique house that brings happiness to the family and improves their productivity.

The Il Pausa House demonstrates a strong interplay between accessibility, efficiency, and productivity, in all its aspects. Evidenced through the geometric morphology of the design, as well as the relationships and correlations between the internal spaces, extending to the design of the structure and the integration of natural sunlight throughout and its impact on the house's habitation. Despite a beautifully designed interior, and a harmonious selection of material, the standout feature is the house's grand entrance off of street level, delicately splitting the pedestrian’s view.
