Denver Hsu's Innovative Teahouse Design Wins Silver A' Design Award

Unveiling the Unique Properties and Inspirations Behind the Award-Winning Design

The design, named 'Sum', is a teahouse located in a quiet business district. The inspiration for this design was to create a space that is far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, providing an elegant, warm, and natural environment for tea and wine enthusiasts.

What sets 'Sum' apart from other designs is its imaginative space planning. Upon entering the teahouse, visitors are immediately greeted by a product display area that seamlessly integrates with the hall space. The design combines magnificent decoration with a meticulous structure to showcase the traditional essence of tea while introducing a sense of innovation to tea drinking.

The teahouse is realized using light-colored wood veneer and walnut wood color as the base, creating a clean and refreshing atmosphere. Plants are skillfully used throughout the space to advocate a healthy and natural atmosphere. The project covers a total of 364 square meters and is tagged as Interior, Commercial, Fitness, Teahouse, Pure, and Asian style.

The space is divided into a tea drinking area, small box, and tea ware display area. The displayed products are distributed in the space in a matrix array, which is related to the spatial moving line. This design was conceptualized and completed in Nanning within the timeframe of July to October 2022.

Research for this design started from the space atmosphere, focusing on presenting the brand temperament of concave inkstone. The design challenges included displaying the broad and profound meaning of oriental tea culture in a high and low interesting space. The original intention of the project design was to build courtyards and buildings in the interior space, which can comfort people's hearts and guide people into the space without intention.

The design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2023. This award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
