Aschon: A Vintage-Inspired Hair Salon by Creep Design

A Cozy and Timeless Oasis in Taipei's Eastern District

Creep Design, led by main designers Yu-Zu Chuang, Shih-Yao Huang, and Chia-Chi Kuo, has created a unique and captivating hair salon in Taipei's Eastern District. Aschon, a vintage-inspired salon, combines elements of the Showa period with modern design sensibilities to create a clean and elegant atmosphere.

The main salon is the focal point of the space, featuring floor-to-ceiling decorative screen walls made of rift sawn oak. These screens are accented with brass and walnut details, adding a touch of sophistication to the overall design. The warm and bright materials used in the decor create a cozy ambiance that still feels inviting.

Style Vintage, as the salon is aptly named, evokes the atmosphere of a refined salon with rich colors, textures, and intricate details. Upon entering, guests are immediately drawn to the rattan partition in front of the counter, which adds a touch of relaxation to the overall style. The color scheme of the salon features a contrasting palette of greens and soft coral shades, creating a modern and vibrant atmosphere throughout the space.

The use of limed timber, rattan, and woven leather adds a tactile element to the design, while the vibrant ceramic tiles and terrazzo stone keep the overall look refreshing and contemporary. The attention to detail and exquisite craftsmanship create a cozy and timeless atmosphere, making guests feel like they are stepping into a luxurious and comfortable home lounge.

Located in an alley in Taipei's Eastern District, the Aschon hair salon covers an area of approximately 100 square meters. The project, which started in October 2022, was completed in January 2023, showcasing the dedication and expertise of the design team.

Aschon's unique design has not gone unnoticed, as it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding and creatively ingenious designs that authenticate experience and resourcefulness.
