Click: The Traceless Stapler Designed for Students

A Fun and Functional Stationery Solution

Click is a unique traceless stapler that caters to the needs of students. Its interesting cartoon animal shape sets it apart from traditional staplers, making it a delightful addition to any desk. The main function of Click is to bind papers without leaving any holes, thanks to its reusable clips that protect the integrity of the paper. The innovative structure design and careful consideration of ergonomics enable Click to complete automatic and continuous clamping, enhancing work efficiency. Furthermore, the minimalist materials used in its construction and the reusable features make Click a sustainable choice for environmentally-conscious individuals.

The components of Click include a plastic enclosure, a metal spring, and metal clips. The enclosure is made of ABS plastic through injection molding, while the pattern is applied using cost-effective screen printing techniques. With dimensions of 28mm x 16mm x 118mm, Click is compact and portable, fitting perfectly in a student's hand.

Operating Click is simple and intuitive. Users need to insert the reusable stainless steel clips, hold the stapler, align the opening with a stack of paper, and push the bottom forward. By repeating these steps 2-3 times, the binding process is completed effortlessly.

The design project for Click took place from March 2022 to February 2023 in Ningbo, China. Throughout the project, extensive research was conducted to understand the needs and preferences of student users, ensuring that the function, shape, and color of the product were tailored to their requirements.

One of the main challenges faced during the design process was creating an ergonomic design for a handheld tool. The designers had to carefully consider the size and shape curve of Click to optimize the user experience. The result is a stapler that feels comfortable in the hand and allows for easy operation.

Click is a humanistic design that combines practicality with a touch of whimsy. Its cartoon animal shapes are particularly appealing to its primary user group, teenagers. The innovative structural design and ergonomic considerations enable automatic and continuous clamping, increasing work efficiency. By using simple materials and replaceable components, Click promotes sustainability in the realm of stationery.
