The Temple's design is a celebration of materials. The stand features pressure-molded ceramic plates in gloss white, a solid beech wood central spine with an oiled finish, and a self-coloured injection moulded ABS 'mini spine' with a fine texture. The design could also incorporate melamine for the plates and an ABS plastic spine.

The design process for the Temple began in November 2011 and continued until March 2012. Woodward conducted extensive research, including store visits, home visits, and interviews with domestic bakers and hobbyists. The design drivers for the project were clean and simple aesthetics, contemporary look and feel, celebration of materials, easy cleaning and hygiene, compactness when not in use, and adaptability for a variety of occasions.

Despite the challenges, Woodward successfully created a design that meets all these criteria. The Temple is a testament to Woodward's innovative thinking and design prowess.
