A Unique and Functional Space for Golfers to Unwind

The inspiration for Birdie's Lounge came from the serene and picturesque golf course itself. Mario J Lotti wanted to capture the essence of the links, the lush greenery, and the vast blue sky in the design of the lounge. The goal was to create a space that not only served as a bar and lounge but also as a venue for golf competition awards ceremonies and other smaller events.

One of the standout features of Birdie's Lounge is the bar, which is a three-sided glass box offering expansive views of the golf course. The design challenge was to create a space that felt open and connected to the surroundings while still maintaining functionality and privacy. To achieve this, Lotti introduced a curved bar that facilitates communication and enhances the flow through the space. The angled back bar wall, adorned with a mosaic mirror, reflects the view of the golf course, further immersing guests in the golfing experience.

Another aspect that sets Birdie's Lounge apart is the use of materials and colors. The furnishings in the lounge are carefully selected to mimic the colors of the golf course, creating a harmonious and cohesive design. The yellow onyx cladding on the bar adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. The construction of the bar was completed within a tight timeframe of six weeks, with the carcass constructed using brick masonry and the stone materials ordered in advance. The attachment of the yellow onyx is done with a single large ornamental bolt, allowing for easy installation and maintenance.

The lounge at Birdie's Golf Club spans approximately 400 square meters and offers a versatile space that can be reconfigured to accommodate different functions. The layout of the bar allows for easy rearrangement of the space, making it suitable for various events and gatherings. The curved bar design also ensures that guests sitting at the bar can comfortably interact with each other, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.

Birdie's Lounge was completed in just six weeks, from the initial design request to the final construction and opening. Located in Quang Nam, Vietnam, this lounge has become a popular destination for golfers and visitors alike. Its unique design and attention to detail have earned it recognition, including the Iron A' Design Award in 2014. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
