The Forest of Life is not just an architectural marvel, but a symbol of mankind's quest for safe, stable, clean, and sustainable energy use. Drawing inspiration from the book "Intelligent Energy The Year of Us," Serendipper has created a space that is both informative and immersive, showcasing the company's corporate culture, smart energy technology, and achievements.
Spanning 406 square meters, the exhibition hall is a testament to the company's commitment to improving urban energy efficiency. By harnessing smart energy, the company aims to create a green and healthy urban living experience, providing sustainable power for city dwellers.
The design team, comprising Lei Dong, Tian Lu Cai, Chang Jiang Shang, and Jian Xin Liu, envisioned a space where clean energy and nature could coexist. The result is the Energy Forest, a concept that encapsulates the idea of a city and its native forest prospering together. Completed in June 2020 in Nanjing, China, the project is a testament to the power of design and innovation.
Inside the exhibition hall, visitors are transported into a primeval forest, complete with high-tech displays and immersive experiences. As they traverse the park, they are taken on a journey through the seasons, experiencing the company's story and technology amidst the natural scenery of spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
Overcoming creative and technical challenges, the design team used water-rippled stainless steel panels, ripple-like curves, moss, simulated plants, and acrylic sheets to create a realistic forest setting. The use of high-tech lighting, audio-visual displays, and interactive exhibits further enhances the immersive experience, while natural materials like wood, stone, and water create a connection with the natural environment.
The Forest of Life is not just a design project, but a testament to the power of green innovation. Its recognition as a Silver A' Design Award winner in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2023 is a testament to its excellence and innovation. As we move towards a future where sustainability is key, projects like The Forest of Life serve as a reminder of the power of design in shaping our world.
