Air Transformable Table: The Perfect Solution for Small Spaces

A Versatile Coffee Table and Dining Table in One

When space is limited, finding furniture that is both functional and stylish can be a challenge. However, designer Claudio Sibille has come up with an innovative solution with his Air Transformable Table. Inspired by the constraints of small apartments, this unique piece of furniture seamlessly transitions from a coffee table to a dining table, providing versatility without sacrificing design.

The Air Transformable Table is a coffee table that can be easily transformed into a full dining room table for six to eight chairs. With just a few simple steps, the table's pipes can be rotated, opening up the surface area and creating a spacious dining table. This design is perfect for small spaces where every extra square centimeter counts.

What sets the Air Transformable Table apart is its modern and elegant aesthetic. In its coffee table position, it is a sleek and compact piece that adds a touch of sophistication to any living room. When transformed into a dining table, it maintains its contemporary design, creating a stylish and functional space for entertaining guests.

The table is made using finger joint wooden boards, a metallic frame, and round bent pipes. The wooden boards are supported by the metallic frame to prevent bending and ensure stability. The pipes, when rotated, change their position, allowing for the transformation from coffee table to dining table. The entire process takes just seconds, making it effortless to switch between the two configurations.

With dimensions of 920mm width, 850mm depth, and 430mm height in coffee table position, and 1840mm width, 850mm depth, and 740mm height in dining table position, the Air Transformable Table provides ample space for both casual meals and formal gatherings. The 25mm diameter pipes add a touch of elegance to the design, further enhancing its visual appeal.

Claudio Sibille, the mastermind behind this innovative piece, conducted extensive research to create a lightweight, economical, and visually appealing solution. He drew inspiration from existing coffee tables that could transform into dining tables, studying various processing systems and adapting them to his unique design. Sibille aimed to avoid complex mechanical fittings, ensuring that the transformation process remains simple and user-friendly.

The Air Transformable Table was completed in February 2014 in Montevideo, Uruguay. Its design has garnered recognition and acclaim, earning it the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2014. This prestigious award celebrates designs that showcase creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skill, contributing to improvements in quality of life.

With the Air Transformable Table, Claudio Sibille has created a versatile and visually captivating piece of furniture that addresses the challenges of small living spaces. Its seamless transformation from a coffee table to a dining table makes it a practical and stylish addition to any home.
