Tiny Turtle: A Decorative Candle Holder

The Tiny Turtle stands out from similar products due to its purity in design and manufacturing technique. Made from 1.5mm DKP sheet metal, it undergoes a meticulous process of sheet metal laser cutting, power sanding, bending, and electrostatic painting. The result is a sleek and durable candle holder that exudes elegance.

One of the main considerations during the design process was addressing common issues associated with candle usage. The high temperature of burning candles often leaves burn marks on surfaces, but the Tiny Turtle solves this problem with its elevated legs. The safe placement for candles on the turtle ensures that thin aluminum covers on tea lights do not get easily twisted. Additionally, the high holding part allows for easy transportation of tea lights without the risk of burns.

Another advantage of the Tiny Turtle is its ability to repurpose used candles. Instead of cluttering up the space, these candles can be placed on the turtle's back, serving as decorative accessories. This innovative solution not only keeps the area tidy but also adds a unique touch to the overall decor.

The Tiny Turtle's design is both functional and visually appealing. Its form is derived from a single piece of metal, skillfully bent to create a sturdy structure. The candle is placed on top of the turtle, with the head serving as a grip point for easy handling. The circular shape on the turtle's back prevents slippage while moving, ensuring the candle remains secure.

The Tiny Turtle project was completed in 2014 in Istanbul, Turkey. Elkan Nuri's dedication to creating a practical and aesthetically pleasing candle holder earned the design an Iron A' Furniture Design Award in 2015. This prestigious accolade recognizes the integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and a commitment to a better world.
