Genel Energy Head Office: A Modern and Innovative Workspace

Reflecting Architectural Identity and Fostering Employee Satisfaction

Genel Energy Head Office, designed by Emre Omay & Batu Derer, is a contemporary workspace that combines functionality with a unique aesthetic. The design aims to reflect the architectural identity of the building and create a comfortable and productive environment for employees.

Opting to reflect the angular lines observed on the existing facade design, the designers incorporated lighting design to create a sense of motion within the indoor space. This attention to detail adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to the office atmosphere.

One of the key strengths of this design is its focus on fostering employee satisfaction and productivity. The designers prioritized the value attached to human resources and incorporated details that enhance the overall work experience. The office atmosphere is built with a superior understanding of modern management spaces, ensuring that employees feel comfortable and motivated.

The use of materials plays a crucial role in the realization of this design. The information desk, for example, is made of an artificial material that resembles onyx stone, adding a touch of luxury to the space. Bonsai trees, selected for their longevity, contribute to the overall ambiance. In the meeting rooms, natural oak is used on the floors, walls, and ceilings, creating a warm and inviting environment. The metal suspended ceilings in the private office sections are illuminated with linear LED lighting fixtures, adding a modern and sleek touch.

With a total built-up area of 3350sqm, Genel Energy Head Office provides a contemporary and efficient workspace for its employees. The design incorporates mid-season colors and natural materials such as wood and marble to bridge the gap between the employees and nature. This connection with the natural world is essential in high-rise office buildings, where access to green spaces may be limited.

The project, which started in January 2013 and finished in May 2014, is located in Ankara, Turkey. The design team, consisting of Batu Derer and Emre Omay, successfully overcame challenges such as minimizing the distance between employees and nature and ensuring energy efficiency through automated motion and daylight lighting systems.

Genel Energy Head Office has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2015 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design is respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.

Genel Energy Head Office is a testament to the power of design in creating a modern and innovative workspace. By reflecting the architectural identity of the building and prioritizing employee satisfaction, this design sets a new standard for office interiors.
