Symbiosis: A Unique Residential House DesignBlending Nature and Functionality in Taipei City
With crisscross textures as the backdrop, the Symbiosis residential house design by Cloud Direction Space Design contrasts glimmering warm sunlight, forming a sensual level of space. This project takes solid wood as the key element that shapes the interface, utilizing lights that come from the outside and go through the openings of the windows with neutral color saturation to neutralize shadows in nature and extend the arrangement of sight, creating beautiful scenery as people view from a distance or nearby.
Integrating the living room, dining room, and kitchen into an open lounge area, the designer makes the vision possess an extended and transparent effect by using horizontal lines to visually widen the space and by using the extension of vertical lines to construct diverse depth of field for the lounge area. With the proper utilization of metal components and solid wood, which creates the golden ratio of layers, the design expresses a gentle image.
In terms of design for the small space, the Symbiosis project breaks through traditional methods of residential space. The designer does not specifically plan for realizing the concept of a structural wall in the living room in a conventional way, but takes the customized long table as the main feature for the whole area. This design transforms the indoor area into a place where family members can have pleasant time every day.
Despite the challenges posed by the limited area of the space, the designer successfully maintains the balance between spaciousness and functionality. By breaking through traditional values of interior design patterns, the living room also functions as a dining room, a study, and more.
The Symbiosis design showcases unique sentiment and taste, creating a comfortable and harmonious environment with simple design based on natural, human, and artistic design philosophies. The use of solid wood as the key element shapes the interface, while lights that come from the outside and go through the windows neutralize shadows and extend the arrangement of sight, resulting in breathtaking scenery.
