Lee Jae-moon and Park Jae-pil's inspiration for Maxplo began in 2012 when Kumhotire identified design as its "core future growth engine". They aimed to create a recognizable 'face' for the brand, a powerful visual signal that would allow immediate identification of a Kumhotire even from a distance. The designers wanted a tire with a distinctive face, and the result was the signature sidewall design of Maxplo.
What sets Maxplo apart from other tires is its ability to adapt to any environment, location, and weather. Its intersectional large tread blocks and stable shoulder blocks provide responsive handling, high-speed stability, and traction on dry roads. The tire's internal structure is reinforced to change the wide groove and enhance handling, high-speed capability, and ride quality on snow and mud roads. This tire is not just about its exterior design; it's about performance.
The realization technology behind Maxplo is as impressive as its design. The tire is equipped with an electric motor and a hydrogen engine, making it entirely eco-friendly. It's a tire designed for the future, catering to the market of future supercars that use new technologies and innovative design methods.
Creating Maxplo was not without its challenges. The designers had to redefine tire design, moving away from the perception that tire design meant only “same.” They had to consider tire performance while designing the groove, sipe, and decoration. They simulated their design using computer programs to anticipate the pattern’s performance and studied tire structure and engineering technology. Through these processes, they developed the new Maxplo Design.
Maxplo is a concept tire designed in 2013. It is a testament to the tire's innovative design and performance that it was awarded Platinum in A' Futuristic Design Award in 2015. The Platinum A' Design Award recognizes world-class, exceptional, and highly innovative designs that contribute to societal wellbeing and make the world a better place.
In conclusion, Maxplo represents a significant leap forward in tire design. It is a tire that not only looks distinctive but also performs exceptionally in all weather conditions. Its eco-friendly technology and the innovative thinking behind its design make it a deserving recipient of the prestigious Platinum A' Design Award.
