The Heart Plate, designed by Nikola Vucicevic, is a dish made of safe polyethylene or ceramic materials that helps you cut down the amount of food you load onto your plate. The Heart Plate project was conceived in 2012 in Belgrade, Serbia, and was productized in 2015 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Made of ceramic materials, the Heart Plate measures 22.86cm x 22.86cm x 4.6 mm, providing a suitable size for portion control. The design team, led by Nikola Vucicevic, collaborated with 3D visualization artist Ivan Apostolski and video producer Peter Sundays to bring the Heart Plate to life.
The Heart Plate has received recognition for its innovative design. In 2015, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware, and Cookware Design category. This prestigious award is bestowed upon outstanding and creatively ingenious designs that authenticate experience and resourcefulness. The Heart Plate exhibits strong technical and creative skills and contributes to quality of life improvements, making the world a better place.
