Anap: The Multifunction Beanie for Napping Anywhere

Creating the Perfect Nap Experience

The study of sleeping positions also takes part in the creation of this project. Most of the time, we ought to wake up because of discomfort or distractions. However, with Anap's soft and flexible material, it could support any sleeping position and provide the best sleeping experience for any user.

Anap, designed by Thanapong Panichob, is a beanie for napping that helps you nap in an effective way, wherever you are. This innovative design is divided into two parts: the beanie itself and a mobile application that enhances the napping experience.

The beanie is designed to fit the heads of both men and women, with a shape-transformable function that makes it suitable for various types of napping postures. It also creates a private space, allowing for napping even in chaotic places. The materials chosen for the beanie are comfortable and breathable, providing the perfect nap time.

The mobile application complements the beanie by promoting its functionality. It offers features such as instrumental music with a bpm range of 60-80 and natural guide sounds for breathing. The application allows users to choose music and breathing guide sounds that match their preferences. It also includes a snooze sound that gently wakes users up at the appropriate time, ensuring they feel fully rested and refreshed.

During the production process, the beanie is made using stretch fabric, mesh fabric, and synthetic fibers. The wireless headphones are seamlessly integrated into the beanie, with a battery circuit that doesn't compromise its shape or comfort. The mobile application is developed to provide the most effective sound and music for napping.

Anap has many functions depending on the user's duration of sleep and sleeping position. It can be used as a sleeping supporter or a pillow, and it even has a loop for inserting hands to support them while taking a nap on a table. Its simple and fashionable design allows users to take it everywhere, and the softness of the material creates a suitable atmosphere for sleeping.

The ANAP project started in September 2014 at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, and the concept and prototype were completed in February 2015. Extensive research was conducted to understand the behaviors of nappers and the criteria for effective napping. Mock-ups were created and tested to ensure the functionality and design met user demands.

Anap has received recognition for its innovative design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Wearable Technologies Design category in 2015. This award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.

With Anap, napping becomes a rejuvenating experience, allowing users to rest and recharge wherever they are. Its unique design and functionality make it a must-have for those who value the importance of relaxation and quality sleep.
