Feast in Green

Residential House Designed by Chu-Hsin Tsai

The Feast in Green project is a residential house located on a hill, surrounded by mountains, offering a valuable and excellent environmental advantage for reconstruction. With a compact inner space of only sixty square meters, the designer, Chu-Hsin Tsai, tore down the old layout and restored it to its original, basic outline. The design prioritizes low privacy needs for a single household, increasing the flexibility of functional arrangement by allowing sunlight and greenery to permeate all spaces. This open configuration reduces barriers and reactivates air convection, ultimately decreasing reliance on air conditioning and lamps, and achieving the goals of energy saving, environmental protection, and love for the earth.

The uniqueness of Feast in Green lies in its minor privacy and open configuration, which maximizes the use of space. The wide living room and romantic dining room, adorned with large windows, offer breathtaking views from every corner of the house. The large living room, study room, dining room, bedroom, and bathroom, all yearned for by the owner, can be overlapped and used flexibly in the overall configuration, creating a perfect residence.

The design of Feast in Green utilizes woods, culture stone, and iron items to bring the vision to life. The technical specifications of the design include a total area of 85 square meters. The design tags associated with this project are green, small, fun, open, and sun.

The bathroom in Feast in Green showcases the freedom of space. The wash basin is placed outside the bathroom, and the back side of the bathroom mirror, hung by iron items, is mosaicked into a colorful painting. This design maintains the aesthetics while also partitioning the space. A 90-degree double shower curtain on the edge of the bathroom ensures privacy when necessary, and a glass compartment serves as the shower area. The walls are adorned with color flash art stones and cement polishing materials, creating a soothing atmosphere for the body and mind.

The project was completed in Taipei, and extensive research was conducted to maximize the use of space while maintaining privacy. The dark grey art stones used as the TV wall and bedside wall in the bedroom enhance the material's features and contrast with white seams. The wide living room and romantic dining room, with their large windows, allow for panoramic views inside the house. The large living room, study room, dining room, bedroom, and bathroom can all be used flexibly, creating a perfect residence.

The design of Feast in Green faced challenges such as integrating the mechanisms of a shoe cabinet, wardrobe, and deck locker into a flat and continuous wall at the entrance. The design also incorporates a comfortable wall bed at the end of the wall, bringing a soft and gentle touch to the space that corresponds to the green field outside the window. These complex and ingenious ideas make life more comfortable in the building.

The Feast in Green design is copyrighted by C&K International Architectural And Interior Design CO. It has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2016. This award is bestowed upon outstanding and creatively ingenious designs that authenticate experience and resourcefulness.
