Veneza: A Geometric and Unusual Sideboard

A Unique Piece Inspired by Venetian Gondolas

The Veneza sideboard stands out with its intersecting geometric planes and straight lines, making it an unusual design piece. Its shape was carefully crafted to achieve perfect balance and fittings, resulting in a solid and resistant element. Made from environmentally friendly MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), this sideboard also provides stability in its dimensions.

The production process of the Veneza sideboard involves using 15mm MDF leftovers from the clippings of other design pieces. The usable MDF pieces are chosen and cut using carpentry machinery, following the project's specifications. The pieces are then assembled through fittings, screw fixing, or specific wood glue. Finally, the sideboard receives a matte varnish coverage.

With dimensions of 2250mm x 600mm x 750mm, the Veneza sideboard is not only a visually appealing piece but also a functional one. It can be used as an adornment in rooms and as a support for decorative pieces.

The project for the Veneza sideboard began in March 2014 in Teresina, Piaui, and was completed in September of the same year. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted to determine the size, shape, and assembly of the parts. The main challenge was to achieve balance and beauty while using the remains of MDF production from other pieces, giving them a new and unusual purpose.

The Veneza sideboard, with its resemblance to a Venetian gondola, showcases a contemporary and eco-friendly design. Its slim lines and geometric form create a sense of lightness, despite its large volume. The entire structure is made of reforested wood, emphasizing the designer's commitment to social responsibility and sustainability.

Winner of the Iron A' Design Award in 2016, the Veneza sideboard is recognized for its well-designed, practical, and innovative characteristics. It meets professional and industrial requirements while contributing to a better world through its integration of industry best practices and competent technical features.
