Threaded Ed.18, The Curiosity Issue, is a unique magazine that combines art, design, and innovation. The cover, originally painted to explain the concept of time to a young child, uses primary tools to explore early learning. This issue highlights the importance of curiosity as a self-starter kit for designers and all individuals.

What sets Threaded apart is its inclusive approach to design and art. The magazine features interviews with a range of practitioners, offering insights into their work and design processes. The layout design of Threaded reflects the artistic methodologies, sensibilities, and attitudes of its collaborators. A thematic approach unites and synthesizes the content, with the visual language inspired by the cover art.

Ed.18 is a well-crafted printed object that showcases the importance of color, format, and tactility. The cover section features special embellishments, including blind embossing of the masthead and the word 'CURIOSITY', reinforcing the theme. The use of black and white ink adds contrast to the rich red stock.

Threaded Ed.18 was printed using a variety of B&F Papers and Arjowiggins stocks. The dimensions of the magazine are 210mm x 7mm x 275mm. The project started in February 2015 and was printed in New Zealand for international distribution in July 2015.

Threaded's unique approach to showcasing design and creativity has been recognized with the Silver A' Design Award in 2016. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill.
