The design's unique properties lie in its exterior and interior. The exterior features multiple perspectives and incisions strewn across the facade, creating a three-dimensional effect of overlapping blocks. The interior greets visitors with an assemblage of cut sheets of wooden elements, creating a flowing aesthetic language of lines for a dynamic visual sensation.
The design was realized using natural marble-Italian grey, natural teakwood veneer with steel brushes, black dyed wood veneer, imported patterned leather, flame-resistant carpets, customized illumination, and stone paint. The project area spans 588 square meters, serving as a place for visitors to understand more about new housing development.
The project started in May 2014 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and was completed in September 2014. The design faced challenges in ensuring that the architecture was friendly to the community and blended into the environment. The solution was to raise the site and create a structure inspired by nature, with bold presentations simulating natural elements.
The design research focused on creating a facade that resembled a weaving of fabric or rattan patterns, transformed into isometric porous structures. This allowed skylight to seep through the porous wall and create a dramatic rhythm of light and shadow. The design's unique features and innovative approach to public space design have earned it the Golden A' Design Award, a testament to the designers' creativity and wisdom.
