Revolutionizing Home Design: Casa PAL

Blending Tradition and Innovation in Sustainable Architecture

Designed by Filippo Caprioglio, Casa PAL is a unique private home in Italy that marries sustainable technology with traditional aesthetics, offering a fresh perspective on prefabricated architecture.

Driven by the client's desire for a sustainable and comfortable living space, the design of Casa PAL was oriented towards the technology of wooden prefabrication. This approach not only ensured environmental friendliness but also allowed for a high degree of customization, resulting in a home that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The challenge for Caprioglio and his team was to preserve the memories of the old family house while incorporating new functions and construction technology. The solution was a complete reorganization of the home's formal and internal distribution. The living area was moved to the top floor, with the night zone on the first level, and the study, entrance, and a small service apartment were located on the ground floor.

Casa PAL is a high-end technological wood prefabricated construction with a bow window system facade on the south side. All sustainable energy processes are put in place, making the house operate in a sustainable way and guaranteeing everyday comfort living. The house's MEP system is operated by a domotic program, further enhancing its sustainability and convenience.

The project, which lasted from December 2014 to April 2016, is located in Pordenone, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in the northern part of Italy. With a total area of approximately 500 square meters, the house features a basement for garage services and a cellar, and three levels all connected by the main stair or the internal elevator.

The design of Casa PAL was awarded Silver in A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2018. This prestigious accolade is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The award is a testament to Caprioglio's commitment to sustainable design and his ability to seamlessly blend tradition and innovation.

In conclusion, Casa PAL represents a significant advancement in sustainable architecture. It showcases how innovative design and construction techniques can be used to create a home that is not only environmentally friendly but also comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. With its unique design and sustainable features, Casa PAL is a model for future home designs.
