SpaceTime Coordinates: A Personalized Wearable Solar System

Exploring the Universe Through Personal Dates

Space and time converge in a unique design project that allows individuals to carry a piece of the universe with them. SpaceTime Coordinates, created by designer Angélique Govy, is a 3D printed wearable solar system that combines NASA's data with personal dates, creating a personalized memento that celebrates our place in the cosmos.

SpaceTime Coordinates is not just a piece of jewelry; it is a symbol of our connection to the universe. By using a specific date, whether it be a birthdate, anniversary, or historical event, each design is personalized and holds a special meaning for the wearer. It serves as a reminder that we are all part of something much larger than ourselves.

The design features a pendant that can be used as a necklace, bracelet, or keychain. The center hole represents the Sun, and the orbital paths of the celestial objects are engraved on one face, while the other face showcases the celestial objects themselves. This dual perspective allows the wearer to view the solar system from both the north and south pole points of view.

Creating these intricate designs requires the use of NASA's data from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). The four dimensions of space and time (x, y, z, t) are used to represent a specific location in the universe. The orbital paths are meticulously engraved, and the sizes and distances between the celestial objects are schematized to ensure visibility at this scale.

SpaceTime Coordinates offers two sizes for their designs: 25mm and 30mm in diameter. The possibilities for materials are vast, ranging from polished or raw options such as 18k Gold, Silver, Platinum, Steel, Brass, Bronze, Aluminum, and more.

Angélique Govy, the designer behind SpaceTime Coordinates, embarked on extensive research to create the most accurate model possible. Her passion for space and the universe is evident in her work, and she aims to provide a sense of perspective and tranquility through her designs.

The project began in April 2015, and after a successful Kickstarter campaign in April 2016, production is set to start in the fall/winter of 2016. SpaceTime Coordinates has already received recognition for its innovative design, winning the Bronze A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2016.

SpaceTime Coordinates is more than just a piece of jewelry; it is a tangible representation of our place in the universe. By combining personal dates with NASA's data, this design project allows us to carry a piece of the cosmos with us and find meaning in our own individual existence.
