Restaurant and Bar Design by Chien-Sheng Tung

The inspiration for the design came from the natural beauty of the outdoor space surrounding the restaurant. The play of light on the swimming pool and the swaying palm trees created a warm and tranquil atmosphere that the designer sought to recreate indoors. The use of white couches along the poolside allows guests to relax and enjoy the space, while the French windows, with their geometric cuts, provide an illusionary and distinct atmosphere.

One of the unique properties of this design is the careful balance between features and environment. The materials used, such as grey exposed concrete and cold irons, showcase the originality of the space without being showy or grandiose. The design aims to conceal the architecture within the housing environment, creating a sense of harmony.

The realization of this design is achieved through the use of technology and careful attention to detail. The geometric-cuts glass, when combined with the azure underwater lights, creates a mesmerizing reflection that adds to the overall appeal of the space. The interaction between the water shadow and the glass foil creates a splendid and captivating world.

The design of the Beluga Restaurant & Bar also takes into consideration the interaction between guests and the space. The original glass, cut into geometric shapes, adds depth and richness to the reflections, creating a sumptuous atmosphere. The pool, in addition to its refreshing and soothing features, allows the geometric reflections of the glass to merge with the soft curved reflections of the water surface, resulting in a surreal and intricate blending of shadow and light.

The Beluga Restaurant & Bar is not only a visually stunning space but also a functional one. The marble mesa design incorporates a communication platform, allowing guests to engage in conversations while enjoying their dining experience. The VIP room, on the other hand, offers privacy and a distinct character for groups of people.

This design has received recognition for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2016 for its contribution to quality of life improvements and its incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
