Konnect is a unique concept that consists of a smartphone application and two smart bracelets containing motion-tracking sensors. The device is designed to make meditation practices more practical and enjoyable. Traditional meditation techniques can be time-consuming and difficult to learn without proper feedback. Konnect addresses these challenges by providing real-time sound feedback and interactive exercises.
The housing of Konnect is made of Polystone material, while the exchangeable straps are made of a combination of natural elastodiene rubber and recycled polyester textile. The system includes a smartphone application and two motion-tracking smart bracelets. The bracelets feature a 9-axis motion-tracking module, a photoplethysmography sensor, a Bluetooth module, a wireless power receiver and charger, a double-layer capacitor, and a proximity sensor.
When the two halves of Konnect are joined, the dimensions measure 30mm x 15mm x 9mm. The device's compact size makes it convenient to wear and use in various settings.
The usage of Konnect is based on a series of simple arm motion exercises. The device provides real-time sound feedback through the smartphone speaker or earphones, making it easy to learn and practice the movements. Each move is assigned a specific tone, and when performed with proper orientation, dynamics, and continuity, these tones create a melodious experience.
The Konnect project started in January 2015 in Budapest and was completed in July 2015. The design team, led by Balázs Tóth, collaborated with choreographer Anita Barabás and sound designer Tamás Hauptricht to create a seamless and immersive meditation experience.
Konnect is the recipient of the Iron A' Design Award in the Wearable Technologies Design category. This prestigious award recognizes the practicality, innovation, and professional quality of the design. Konnect's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contribute to a better world by promoting wellbeing and positive feelings.
With its unique approach to meditation and stress reduction, Konnect offers a promising solution for individuals seeking to improve their mental health and concentration. By combining technology, motion, and sound, Konnect provides an engaging and effective way to achieve a state of calm and focus.
