iNAP Sleep Therapy System: Revolutionizing Sleep Apnea Treatment

Comfortable, Travel-Friendly, and Effective

Somnics, Inc. introduces the iNAP Sleep Therapy System, a groundbreaking solution for individuals suffering from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). With its innovative design and user-friendly features, the iNAP system aims to provide a more comfortable and convenient treatment option, increasing everyday compliance and improving the quality of life for OSA patients.

The iNAP Sleep Therapy System was born out of the personal experience of Somnics founder, Dr. Chung-Chu Chen, who was diagnosed with OSA several years ago. Frustrated with the limitations of traditional CPAP machines, Dr. Chen saw an opportunity to create a patient-centered treatment device that would be easier to use, more comfortable, and travel-friendly.

Unlike conventional CPAP machines, the iNAP system does not require a face mask or a bulky machine. Instead, it utilizes a discreet soft oral interface and a pocket-sized console. During sleep, the iNAP system creates a gentle vacuum within the oral cavity by stabilizing the tongue, effectively freeing the airway and preventing sleep apnea episodes.

One of the key strengths of the iNAP system is its focus on user experience. The system features an intuitive user interface, a built-in rechargeable battery, and an easy-to-clean saliva container. These design elements make the iNAP system not only effective but also highly convenient and portable, making it an ideal travel companion for OSA patients.

Technical specifications of the iNAP Sleep Therapy System include dimensions of 152*80*36mm, a weight of 250g, and a battery run life of approximately 7 days. These specifications ensure that the system is compact, lightweight, and capable of providing uninterrupted therapy for an extended period.

The iNAP Sleep Therapy System represents a significant advancement in the treatment of sleep apnea. By utilizing negative pressure applied in the mouth, the iNAP system effectively stabilizes the tongue and soft palate, opening up the blocked airway and preventing sleep apnea episodes. This innovative approach offers a comfortable and non-invasive alternative to traditional CPAP machines.

Research indicates that approximately 26% of adults between the ages of 30 and 70 suffer from OSA. Left untreated, OSA can lead to serious health consequences such as hypertension, heart disease, and diabetes. The iNAP Sleep Therapy System aims to provide an alternative treatment option for patients who cannot tolerate CPAP machines, ultimately increasing patient compliance and improving overall health outcomes.

The development of the iNAP Sleep Therapy System began in 2011 in Taiwan and was exhibited at Medica in November 2015. Since then, it has garnered recognition and acclaim, including the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design category in 2016. This award recognizes the iNAP system's outstanding design, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology to improve the quality of life for individuals with sleep apnea.

The iNAP Sleep Therapy System is a testament to the power of innovation and design in revolutionizing healthcare. By prioritizing patient comfort, convenience, and compliance, Somnics, Inc. has created a game-changing solution for individuals suffering from sleep apnea, offering them a more comfortable and effective treatment option.
